When a burn occurs, seconds count! Burns must be cooled immediately, otherwise the heat will continue to destroy surrounding and underlying tissue.
Water-Jel Burn Dressings are a gelatinized water mixture designed to perform the four critical steps of burn management in a single application . Due to their gelatinous nature, they cool the burn site and provide pain relief.
Its other property is that as the burn site cools , the dressing warms, leaving the site covered with a warm dressing, helping to prevent hypothermia.
The gel can be left for more than four hours.
